Northline delivers the training and conducts the evaluations. The Government of Alberta administers the applicable testing and certification. Dates are held after you approve the written proposal.

Northline delivers Health & Safety Officer and Incident Safety Officer training to departments and groups across Alberta. These two are commonly scoped alongside Fire Officer (NFPA 1021) and Fire Service Instructor (NFPA 1041) as part of an officer development program.

These two sit outside the Government of Alberta Firefighter Certification Program. They carry Pro Board certification, and Northline delivers the training while the applicable testing and certification are administered by an external certifying body rather than by the Government of Alberta. NFPA has consolidated the 1521 standard into NFPA 1550; the qualifications are still certified and referred to as 1521 across the fire service. Prerequisites and certification arrangements are confirmed in writing before any dates are finalized.
Safety Officer Training →Incident Command System (ICS)
Northline delivers ICS I-100, I-200 and I-300 to departments, municipalities, industrial organizations and emergency response teams, in person and to your group.
ICS certification is issued through ICS Canada and does not carry a Pro Board seal.
Plan ICS training →Officer development
Fire Officer, Fire Service Instructor, safety officer and ICS can be planned as one development program for members moving into officer roles. Regional groups can combine rosters and run the program together.

Northline delivers the training and conducts evaluations within the provincial pathway. The Government of Alberta Firefighter Certification Program administers the applicable testing and certification. Your proposal identifies the pathway, prerequisites and responsibilities for the program you select.

- The schedule, including whether delivery is split across multiple dates

Instructors are assigned by program and subject matter. You are told who is delivering your training before the course, not on the day.
