How certification works
Northline delivers the Fire Officer I training. The Government of Alberta Firefighter Certification Program administers the Pro Board certification examination and application process. Candidates who pass the required assessments and meet all prerequisites can receive Pro Board certification from the Government of Alberta.

Officers rarely stop at one qualification. Fire Officer II is the next step in the same standard, Fire Service Instructor covers NFPA 1041, and safety officer training covers the ISO and HSO roles under NFPA 1521. Departments developing several officers at once usually scope these together as one officer development program. If you are comparing the officer and instructor routes, see NFPA 1021 vs NFPA 1041.
