Standard First Aid (SFA) training in Alberta
Canadian Red Cross Intermediate/Standard First Aid and CPR is designed for workplace and general first aid requirements. In Alberta, the current Red Cross CPR C and AED course is approved at the Intermediate First Aid level.
$1,495 CAD plus applicable GST for up to 12 participants. Each additional participant is $110 CAD, to a maximum of 18 in one session. The rate includes learner materials, Canadian Red Cross certification for each participant who completes the course, and use of training equipment. Travel outside Calgary and the Bow Valley is confirmed before booking.

What you will learn
CPR and AED
Recognition and response to cardiac and respiratory emergencies, including CPR and AED use for the selected CPR level.
Emergency scene and patient assessment
A structured approach to scene safety, initial assessment and ongoing care while professional help is arranged.
Bleeding and wound care
Recognition and care of significant bleeding, wounds and related emergencies.
Sudden medical emergencies
Recognition and first aid for common acute medical emergencies.
Musculoskeletal and environmental emergencies
First aid for bone, muscle and joint injuries, head and spine concerns, environmental illness and poisoning.

Certification
The Canadian Red Cross program provides a three year Intermediate First Aid and CPR certification after successful completion. The current Alberta approved course list includes the CPR C and AED option at the Intermediate First Aid level.
Prerequisites and delivery
The current Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid program is open to any learner. Northline delivers it blended: each participant completes the online part on their own schedule, then the group meets for one in person day at your location. Renewing a current certificate is a one day in person class.
