Basic Life Support (BLS) Training in Alberta
Heart & Stroke BLS is designed for healthcare providers, trained first responders and healthcare students who need professional level resuscitation skills. Northline offers individual and private team delivery through certified instructors.

- Recognition of life threatening emergencies.

Delivery Options
Heart & Stroke currently offers BLS in instructor led and blended formats. The exact course schedule depends on the selected format and current program requirements.
Instructor Led BLS
Complete the Heart & Stroke BLS program with an instructor through the classroom format available for the scheduled course.
Blended BLS
Complete the assigned online learning before attending the required instructor led skills and evaluation session.
Certification
Heart & Stroke BLS certification is valid for one year after successful completion. Northline confirms the current course format and completion requirements before registration.
BLS does not cover workplace first aid. If your employer also requires workplace first aid coverage, review Standard First Aid or Alberta workplace first aid training.
