These evaluations are run by departments or their designated testing providers. Requirements can change between intakes, so confirm the current requirement before you book or train for a specific test.

Physical testing varies by department. Do not assume that preparing for one firefighter test means you understand the requirements of another.
Confirm the exact assessment used by your target department, then use the official testing source for current procedures and booking information.
Calgary CPAT
Calgary currently uses the Candidate Physical Ability Test during its recruitment process.
The City describes CPAT as eight separate stations that simulate tasks performed at a fire scene. Calgary also uses a separate treadmill assessment later in the process.

University of Alberta Testing
The University of Alberta delivers the Firefighter Applicant Physical Aptitude Evaluation.
For Edmonton Fire Rescue Services, the current published process describes a treadmill test followed by six task specific job simulation tests.
