The University lists $399 plus GST, paid in full when you book, with $150 of it non refundable. Edmonton’s recruitment page lists $388.50. Pay what the University’s booking page shows.

How long are the results valid?

The University says results are typically valid for six months, and each department sets its own window. Edmonton allows one attempt per recruitment cycle; Medicine Hat counts a result within 12 months of its closing date.

Is the Red Deer Polytechnic test the same test?

Red Deer Polytechnic describes its test as separate, derived from the University of Alberta materials and adapted with Red Deer Emergency Services, with different protocols and cut scores.

Can I try the stations before my test?

The University runs open house sessions for people planning to test in the next 6 to 12 months, at $60 plus GST. They give you a feel for the tasks with the real equipment. They sit outside every recruitment process and follow their own procedure.
