Two Tests, Two Programs

Alberta departments do not use interchangeable physical assessments. Some run the CPAT, a continuous timed circuit under load. The University of Alberta runs a loaded treadmill assessment followed by six job task stations. Preparing well for one is not the same as preparing for the other.

This bundle exists for candidates who face both, or who do not yet know which one their process uses. It is the two existing programs together at a lower combined price. There is no third program and no bundle only content.

How the twelve weeks are built

  1. 1 Work out which test applies to you Departments do not use interchangeable physical assessments. Confirm which one your process uses before choosing a program, and use this bundle when the answer is both, or not yet known.
  2. 2 Follow one program at a time These are two twelve week progressions, not a twenty four week course and not a program to run in parallel. Pick the test in front of you, complete that progression, and keep the other for the next process.
  3. 3 Everything arrives at once All eight documents are available immediately after purchase, from the same account, with no second checkout and no waiting.

Run One at a Time

Each program is a twelve week progression. They are not designed to be run in parallel and stacking them would mean training through the fatigue both are built to manage.

Run the program for the test in front of you. Keep the other for the next process. Everything is available from your account the moment you buy, so there is nothing to claim later and no second checkout.

Who this is for

Built for

  • Candidates applying to departments that use different physical tests, or who do not yet know which test they will face.
  • Candidates applying to more than one department in the same recruitment cycle.
  • Candidates who want the movement, nutrition and test day material from both systems.

Not built for

  • Candidates certain they face only one of the two tests. Buy that program on its own instead; this bundle exists to save money, not to sell you something you will not open.
  • Anyone with a medical condition, concerning symptoms during exercise, a recent injury, or who is pregnant, without clearance from a qualified professional first.

Questions

How do I get the resources, and do they expire?
Your resources are in your Northline account at northlineemergency.com/my-courses the moment the purchase completes, and they stay there. You are also emailed a download link, which works for 30 days. The emailed link expires. Your purchase does not.
Is this a different training program?
No. It is the two existing programs together. There is no separate bundle program and no additional content beyond what each product already contains.
Should I run both at the same time?
No. Each is a twelve week progression. Run the one for the test in front of you, and keep the other for a later process.
What if I only face one of the two tests?
Then buy that program on its own. The bundle is worth it when you face both, or when you do not yet know which test your department uses.
Are these official CPAT or University of Alberta products?
No. Northline is independent. We do not administer either test, we are not a licensed CPAT test site, and we are not affiliated with the IAFF, the IAFC or the University of Alberta.

Where Northline Stands

  • Northline provides independent physical preparation. We do not administer the CPAT or the University of Alberta test, we are not a licensed CPAT test site, and we are not affiliated with the IAFF, the IAFC or the University of Alberta.
  • Test procedures, cut scores and requirements can change. Confirm current requirements with your hiring department and the relevant testing provider before test day.
  • This is training guidance, not a medical clearance and not a promise of a passing result. If you have a medical condition, concerning symptoms during exercise, a recent injury, or are pregnant, get clearance from a qualified professional before starting.
