Firefighter Recruitment

PHS Expert Review

You write the draft. A reviewer reads it the way the people receiving it will, and tells you in writing what is missing, what does not line up, and what is going to be read differently than you meant it. Not an automated scan, and not a quote you have to request first.

  • 3 business day turnaround
  • Written findings
  • One recheck included

“If you are looking to start a career in emergency services, this is where I would start.”

How Findings Are Ranked

Ranking matters more than volume. A long list of notes with no order to it is how candidates spend their remaining time on the wrong things.

The Process

How It Runs

  1. 1

    You Buy the Review

Fixed price, no quote step and no unpaid inquiry.

  2. 2

    You Upload Your Draft

From your own account, over a private upload. You have 30 days from purchase to do it.

  3. 3

You Tell Us What You Are Applying To

Naming the department, and anything you already suspect is a problem, makes the review about your actual submission rather than a generic document.

  4. 4

    Northline Reviews It

Within 3 business days of a complete submission.

  5. 5

You Make the Corrections, Then Send It Back Once

One recheck is included, within 14 days of getting your findings, limited to the issues raised in the original review.

Review Standard

What the Review Covers, and What It Will Not Do

The PHS stage exists to confirm that what you told a department is accurate. A review that helped you hide something would leave you far worse off than the thing you were hiding.

  • Do not advise omission, concealment, fabrication, or misrepresentation.
  • Do not predict pass, deferral, or disqualification unless a current authoritative rule squarely governs the exact fact.
  • Do not provide polygraph countermeasures.
  • Exact edits may improve clarity only when the candidate has supplied the underlying facts.
  • Northline is independent. We do not screen, shortlist or hire for any fire department, and a review here carries no weight in any department's process.
  • PHS requirements and instructions differ by department and change over time. Confirm current requirements with the department you are applying to.
  • This is a review of material you supply. It is not a guarantee of progressing to any stage of a recruitment process.
